Resumen

Booli is a Swedish real estate search platform with over 1 million weekly users. The company indexes almost all real estate listings available in Sweden to offer full market transparency to buyers, sellers, and professionals. The company also offers Booli Pro, an analytics tool tailored to clients, including real estate developers.

Today, Booli is composed of around 55 professionals and, since 2015, has been part of SBAB’s  trusted ecosystem of secure mortgage and housing finance services.

In this article, Richard Swarring, Head of Adtech at Booli shares his experience using Didomi’s solution to overcome their privacy challenges.

Challenge: Ensuring data privacy compliance with operational efficiency while expanding to mobile platforms

As a platform handling vast amounts of real estate data and engaging over 1 million users weekly, Booli needed to ensure full compliance with data privacy regulations while maintaining a seamless user experience.

The company previously relied on another Consent Management Platform (CMP), but it presented several operational challenges:

  • It was complex to administer, requiring specialized knowledge to manage consent settings effectively.
  • Only a few team members could handle the system, creating operational limitations and reducing operational agility.

Additionally, Booli recognized a growing need to address privacy compliance across all their digital environments. While their website had a CMP in place, their mobile apps lacked a consent management solution. The absence of a CMP in the apps was initially due to the lack of advertising in those environments. However, in order to begin selling ads in the apps, a CMP was required. This made the implementation of a mobile CMP a crucial step toward enabling new revenue streams while maintaining compliance with privacy regulations.

Implementing a CMP from scratch for their apps became a priority to ensure consistent privacy practices across platforms and to reinforce user trust.

Solution: Implementing a user-friendly, European privacy solution with actionable analytics

To address its privacy and operational challenges, Booli chose our Consent Management Platform (CMP). The decision was driven by the need for a European solution that met ownership requirements from SBAB and aligned with Booli’s strategy for a modern, intuitive, and easy-to-use platform.

Initially planning to roll out the CMP on its apps first, Booli revised its strategy and prioritized the web implementation, with the app integration following later.

Booli adopted a strict consent approach, avoiding legitimate interest as a legal basis and ensuring a transparent user experience through:

  • A prominent “Deny All” button.
  • A pop-in banner format for balanced visibility.
  • A carefully managed list of tech providers and vendors.

Rather than A/B testing, adjustments are made based on live statistics and user behavior insights. With Didomi’s analytics tools, Booli closely monitors:

  • Consent rates and user trends.
  • Vendor activities and cookie usage on its platforms.
  • The performance by device (desktop or app)

This ensures full transparency and control over the company’s data ecosystem.

Throughout the implementation and since going live, Booli has benefited from strong support and hands-on guidance from our team:

“We have a dedicated Account Manager who supports us whenever issues arise and keeps us informed about important updates. It makes us feel valued and well taken care of.”
